Socialism Smocialism

The more I read and listen to conservative talk (not that I spend a lot of time doing said exercise) the more I get a sense that the Repub's and Consevatives don't have a lot of ideas right now.

The Repub's were banging the socialism drum during the campaign, and out of everything they did and said in an attempt to sway voters away from Obama it was the Socialist tag that seemed to give them the best results.

You'd think that after so many weeks and months of crying Socialist the Repub's and Conservative talk show hosts would have moved onto something more applicable. I say applicable because I don't think Obama is doing anything dramatically different than Democrats of decades past and we're still a republic/democracy with some socialism thrown into the mix.

My personal opinion is that Obama isn't trying to create a purely socialistic goverment, but, rather, improve upon the already socialized things operating in the government. Obviously something has to be done about health care. Something has to be done about the middle class slowly dissapearing. Wealth distribution isn't a new idea folks.

The man isn't a saint and some of his ideas will faulter and some will downright fail. His ideas are bold, and in our time I think boldness is needed.
